As of February 2026, several management system standards and sector-specific quality manuals are moving through confirmed revision cycles, while others remain stable.
This article consolidates the current, officially communicated status of ISO management system standards, AIAG & VDA automotive quality tools, and AS9100—without speculation or interpretation.

1. Management System Standards

ISO 9001 – Quality Management Systems

Status: Direct revision in progress

• A new edition of ISO 9001 is under formal revision.

• The structure (HLS) will be retained.

Clarification and modernization of requirements while maintaining alignment with other ISO management system standards.

ISO 14001 – Environmental Management Systems

Status: Direct revision confirmed

• The revision process has reached the Final Draft (FDIS) stage.
